The information landscape in Canada is fracturing.

In our latest episode of Machines Like Us, we examined three major threats to Canadian democracy in the current information environment: foreign interference in elections, the collapse of local journalism, and the rise of AI-generated content.

What ties all three together is that they exploit the same structural weaknesses: a public that's losing trust in institutions, platforms that amplify sensationalism, and a regulatory environment that hasn't kept pace with technological change.
